Analog mixing boards really do make a difference in the sound… so sad that everything has to be “canned for the masses”, I would think that as a musician, there would be a little creative freedom involved, especially when the artist is fronting the money… Great piece, thanks for sharing, CB !! Boo on “loudness wars”. I admit when I am fooling around with music in Cubase I use my Sonic Maximizer plug-in…too much at times. There’s so much peer pressure to squeeze out all the volume you can with compression. But, this guy is right. I like the dynamics of a less compressed sound. Thanks for posting this.
